The 10th edition of the OSU Summer School in Social Sciences: “Central and Eastern Europe in Comparative Perspective: Assessing Social and Political Change” will be held at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology from June 12th to July 14, 2017. The School is organized by CONSIRT (Cross-National Studies: Interdisciplinary Research and Training Program) – a collaborative endeavor of The Ohio State University and the Polish Academy of Sciences. The School offers an intensive training and research program providing students at different academic levels the opportunity to engage first-hand in studying post-communist European countries in comparative perspective. The program includes a course of statistical methods with the use of the Polish Panel Survey POLPAN data. In addition to classroom work with OSU and PAN instructors, students visit major international organizations that assess social and political change in the region and meet with experts in cross-national research. Field trips and cultural activities complement classroom work.
